Sock No.1

I've knitted a sock!

Ok. So it's not the best sock in the world.
It has slightly wonky ribbing...

It has loopy bits sticking out at the toe...

And the bit where I picked up stitches on the heel flap is, well, you'll see...

Oh, and I dropped a stitch, here...

It is sock-shaped though, and it fits!!

In fact, once on, you don't really notice the wonky ribbing, dropped stitch and sticking out loopy bits.

So, on to sock number two I think, toothpicks (a.k.a. 2.5mm bamboo double-pointed needles) at the ready and with much excitement of filling up my own and my family's drawers with hand-knitted socks.

(Just my excitement ...of course I haven't actually asked anyone else if they'd like some!).

xx

  1. It's a lovely sock. Congrats on competing it. I love the yarn colors. As to the wonky ribbing, I find that if I have a knit stitch as the first stitch on each on my dpn it helps keep the ribbing even. Have a great weekend!
